Dr Kate George completed her medical degree at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, undertaking an intercalated Master of Research (MRes) which established a strong foundation in clinical research and cardiovascular science. She completed her cardiology training at Flinders Medical Centre and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). She is also a Lecturer at Flinders University, where she is currently undertaking a PhD focused on advanced cardiac imaging in cardiomyopathy and personalised risk stratification.

Dr George provides comprehensive general cardiology care. She has a strong clinical interest in heart failure and complex cardiomyopathy, areas in which she gained extensive experience during her specialist training. Her academic work in advanced imaging and cardiac phenotyping further supports her commitment to thoughtful, individualised and evidence-based cardiovascular care.

Alongside her general cardiology practice, she is developing further subspecialty expertise in advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and advanced cardiac imaging. She intends to undertake fellowship training in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR), followed by advanced heart failure training, reflecting her commitment to the evolving management of complex cardiovascular disease.

She also maintains a strong focus on preventative cardiology and the management of metabolic syndrome, recognising the importance of early intervention and risk factor optimisation in improving long-term cardiovascular outcomes.

Dr George has worked in the Northern Territory, gaining insight into the challenges of delivering specialist cardiac care across geographically dispersed communities. This experience strengthened her commitment to improving equity in cardiovascular healthcare delivery and ensuring access to high-quality, evidence-based care regardless of location.

She values collaborative multidisciplinary practice, clear communication and patient partnership, and is committed to contributing to the continued development of contemporary heart failure services in South Australia.
